HISTORIC, AND HISTORICALLY INSPIRED ART.

Using Adobe programs, I bring old art back to life by restoring, colorizing, or redesigning classical works from the past. From the 1600s to the latest updates in Graphic Design and Artificial Intelligence, I create new and exciting pieces inspired by historical artists. I love to study and help preserve the collective efforts expressed in art, spanning the past, present, and future. Being a part of an exposition is a wonderful experience. With new design projects in process, the next exposition is coming.

Summer Saloon 2020

Forma Aktua Groningen

There is a great old bookstore in the Folkingestraat in Groningen City, the Netherlands. I often visited the place to find old books. Stuff you will not find in general book stores. Im a history buff, I love mysterious stories, legends and to question, in general, everything. Over the years I often spoke with the owner when visiting his store. Haggled for better prices, discussed certain topics. As a gesture of appreciation for the good prices, interesting talks and discussions and good collection of old books. I gifted him a print, which he hung up for some time. After that he introduced me to the Summer Saloon exposition. 5 works were displayed for 6 weeks.

Palacio de Belles Artes

With its stunning architecture and contrasting yellow-orange dome, this center of art was captured on camera and turned into a water color graphic design.

La Esquina Roja

Somewhere in Mexico stands this beautifully red painted building in decay. Forgotten beauty. A photograph turned into a graphic design for preservation.

A modernization of an old etch. Colorized by hand and given a more dynamic and mystical surrounding in contrast to its pale green and black original print. Which has gone missing.

Utopi

From the bottom to the top: A green, lush and rich flora and fauna in balance with a devout civilization. Not of seriousness, but of sincerity. A civilization in balance with its own nature and that around. Not armed with the strongest weapon, but carrier of the mightiest shield.

When studying a history. I noticed there were big waves of certain art. I decided to draw a single wave and multiply it till I achieved symmetry.

Redrawn, colorized and modernized. This is an early attempt at colorizing the Olympic Gods. This artwork set the stage for the Olympian Exposition Project.

The 2020-2022 pandemic ushered in a new time. Social structures, Ethics, Politics, Wealth, all underwent dramatic changes. I found this old 1848 leaflet that translated to: "At the dawn of a new age". I thought it was very fitting when I changed it to 2020.

FUTURE

HALF ROND Januari 2024

Groningen, The Netherlands

The fifth edition of Halfrond took place in Hooghouse on 20th of January. During this edition, which took place on the Saturday of Eurosonic/Noorderslag Festival, the focus of the theme was the FUTURE. Spread across different rooms in the Hooghouse villa, there were a range of artists and musicians who are at the forefront of the city's vibrant cultural life. - As remarked by Art Point Groningen (Kunstpunt Groningen).

The goal was to create 4 forms of relationships, but at first sight the artwork appears to be a composition of 6 things. These 4 relationship types are depicted as: solid love, passionate love, manipulative love and co-dependent love.

This work is a composition of 6 renders sowed together. Made with the first and earliest DALL-E AI system during the Beta-Testing in 2021.

I set out to create the face of judgement, boredom, tiresomeness in the shape of Love. A glance that tells all. Not words, but deeds can set things right.

The image was created with the MidJourney AI System. Inspired on Gustav Klimt. A few hours of rendering delivered a bleak image that after 50 hours of graphic designing was turned into the artwork it is now.

The goal was to create two women walking away from a late night party in a summer night. The redhead is about to say something to perhaps stay longer. Where the brunette expects this plea.

Rendered with the MidJourney AI System. Inspired on Gustav Klimt. Considerable repairs had to be made. 40+ hours more went into further graphically redesigning it.

Babylonian Confusion of Tongues

I wanted to express the amalgamation of our languages. Many original meanings for words we use much today have been forgotten. It subtly erodes the truths in our words and their implications. Often leaving man with less meaningful content in his mind, yet increases his outspokenness.
